Aamir Khan’s production movie Lagaan was the third Indian film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and was shot in an ancient village near Bhuj. After Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, many film directors considered Kutch as a great location for shooting a movie because of its authentic rustic beauty that was an open canvas to paint anything beautiful.

Ramleela, a big hit by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also shot on the great Rann of Kutch. You can witness some of the scenes that were shot on the majestically White Expanse in Gujarat’s western edge.
